Unmatched customer service is at the core of any great business. I love the opportunity to help people, and my goal is to guide you step by step through your real estate transaction.
My mom used to tell me, “If you ever get the chance to help someone, make sure you do.” Whenever she needed a hand, someone was always there, and in turn, she tried to do the same. It became a philosophy I live by. I’ve come to learn that even the smallest acts of kindness can change someone’s day—and sometimes their life.
From a young age, I was drawn to leadership and service, and that thread has connected the many aspects of my life together. Being an entrepreneur came naturally. In high school, I started an engraving business making name tags and signage for banks and horse tack shops. In college, I started a painting company, hired a team, landed contracts from small jobs to large municipal buildings. It was hands-on work that taught me how to manage people, solve problems, and follow through.
I earned my teaching certification and spent over 20 years with the State of Connecticut working with special needs adults. At the same time, I coached high school sports—softball, basketball, lacrosse, track, and for over 30 years, field hockey. Coaching gave me a direct line to mentorship. I saw how much it mattered for people to have someone believe in them and share their goals. The same was true for the individuals I supported through my state work. Many had phenomenal abilities—memory, navigation, calculation—that were extraordinary, but often overlooked. What they needed was someone to see their strengths and help them trust their potential. Those experiences taught me to carefully listen, understand people’s needs and dreams, and help identify their strengths and maximize their potential.

When I decided to make real estate my full-time career, I brought with me many years of experience, both working closely with people, and purchasing my own homes and investment properties. These experiences provided a comprehensive foundation to support, educate, and problem solve with clients throughout the buying and selling process.
With me as your real estate agent, we will talk about your goals and dreams to determine what homes and locations work best for you. We will work through the process together and I will work diligently to get the best deal on the best home for you.
Real estate has been a natural progression from my entrepreneurial roots, building something that reflects my values and the way I like to work with independence, creativity, and a strong sense of purpose. I work diligently to help my clients achieve the best deal possible and guide them through every step of the process.
I stay actively involved in the community, whether it's supporting local youth sports, sponsoring outdoor movie nights, or serving on boards that make a real impact for the community. For me, it’s about helping people feel seen and supported, especially when they’re in the middle of change. Whether it’s teaching, coaching, or real estate, the goal has always been the same: to help others move forward with confidence. I guess that’s what my mom meant. If you have something to give—time, guidance, experience—you give it. Working together and using everyone's strengths makes us the best team to achieve your goals.

My interest in real estate started early viewing properties with my parents as they explored home and investment opportunities. In the 1990s, I bought my first fixer-upper and worked closely with the trades to enhance my knowledge of remodeling homes. One project led to another, and I eventually completed more than 30 transactions before becoming an agent.
I enjoy guiding my clients through every step of the process. Together we examine their needs to find the right fit. For sellers, it’s often about letting go of a place filled with memories and preparing it in a way that connects with the next owner. I want to know what they loved about the home so I can help buyers envision their new home. Whether it's staging, timing, or working through the details, I stay hands-on the whole way through and help my clients navigate each chapter confidently.
Connecticut is full of beautiful countryside, great towns, and easy access to major cities. Every area offers something a little different. My goal is to help people find the spot that feels just right for them—a place where they can truly feel at home.
Sincerely,
Dawn Hough
